According to multiple sources, Christopher Eccleston is currently in talks to play the main villain, Malekith, in the upcoming Marvel film, Thor: The Dark World.

Most famously known as the Ninth Doctor on Doctor Who, Eccleston would play Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves of the realm of Svartalfheim, and occasional ally of Loki.

UPDATE: It’s official.

I totally did not just stay up watching the Phantom 25th Anniversary performance at the Royal Albert Hall on DVD.
