So I’m catching up on the last few MLP episodes

And I’m like “…wait…they actually called that character Derpy?”  I was pretty sure her official name was Ditzy in previous episodes.

I…don’t like that.  I get it being a fanon nickname and all that, but that’s not cool.  Particularly with the way they’re portraying her.  And the voice they gave her.

I can’t even.

Wait WHAT? I’m pretty behind, but do the characters actually call her that in the episode? Like is that her name? OMG. No. Nononono. 

Yeah, Rainbow Dash actually calls her Derpy while bullying her. That actually happens. On a show aimed at little girls about the magic of friendship. Thankfully, it’s the ONLY time it’s happened, and it’s only in the cold open of The Last Round-Up so it’s easy to skip.

There was a ‘barking mad’ pony (as in, literally, an institutionalized pony that barks) in the most recent episode though. Who was told he ‘belongs in the hospital.’ Soooo their track record with ableism this season is pretty bad.

Ugh. Gross.
