I remember hearing about a really cringe-inducing episode re:Native American vs Cowboy ponies, but I’ve also heard a lot of femmeslash fans who love it. Might give it a try then.

Oh, yes, there was also that one. Eurgh. 

There’s also a character, Zecora, who is awesome (and actually one of my favourites) but is an African-character stand-in with some unfortunate Magical Negro implications (especially because if, as a zebra, we are supposed to interpret her as black, that raises the question: Were we supposed to be interpreting all the other ponies as white?)

The show is not without its problems.
