I really really want to like this movie but I’m really concerned that I won’t

I’m sure I’ll like it because Pixar has always done right by me, but as they are admittedly a boy’s club, I’m already kind of getting the vibe that Brave is going to have the “feminist” flavor of “if the girl is gonna be a strong heroine, she’s gotta give up anything remotely feminine and just act like a dude.” 

^ I have these worries as well. Along with just generally wishing Pixar would make a movie with a girl in the lead where being a girl wasn’t central to her story or the source of her conflict, you know? 

Like, I wish they’d make a movie with a girl in the lead where the lead didn’t necessarily have to be a girl, she just was one because some people are. 

I’m SUPER LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MOVIE, though. And am betting I will like it. It just doesn’t seem to be getting past as many unfortunate trends as I wish it would.
